Today’s post was brought to you today by Italy. Sure it could be the Italian style villa behind me. Or it could be my Italian tailor Enzo who did serious work on my jacket. Or the Italian wool jacket itself. Either way Italians know exactly what their doing with men’s suiting, as well as their iconic architecture (and cappuccinos of course). People often ask me my ethnicity, guessing…

I added a pop to the business casual ensemble with the green vintage denim jacket courtesy of Another Man’s Treasure, a vintage store in Jersey City. I feel most comfortable donning denim of all sorts, and despite the ready-for-work look I was able to add in the jacket. The spread collar shirt is a staple in any season and the tie courtesy of The Tie Bar and the vest add a professional…

Whether it’s your career, your style, or life in general, it’s important to have “a guy”. Like a great barber and a great tailor, for instance. My style plight to an interesting turn in 2014. After years of accumulating a gigantic closet, I had to go and make fitness a huge part of my life. And though I’m very proud of my results, it left a dearth of great fitting pieces in my…

Comfort is not synonymous with fashion. Knitwear and sweats can often have a sloppy undertone, but with a slight dress-up and the right tailoring you’re good! The colorblock knit top from Saturday’s NYC is trim as are the BDG jogger sweats from Urban Outfitters. I’ve been trying to rock joggers in all sorts of ways, from sneakers to now boots with the Red Wings on my feet. The camel…

Change is always interesting. Yes it could be difficult or fantastic but at the very least mixing it up brings something new in your life. And while it may be daunting to say yes to endeavors unique to your journey thus far, growth will come. So whether that’s something trivial like mixing dots and stripes or finding a new home, a new passion, go for it. Whether it’s a cap toe or a wingtip,…

Got the chance to go to the Coach Backstage concert. Coach brought together tastemakers to the event at Irving Plaza. The cool temps at night made the perfect opportunity to wear my Coach leather racer. I purchased the jacket in mid-July and I’ve been waiting patiently to wear it. I love the color, the thickness and yes the smell of the fitted layer. Boots are a fall/winter staple for…

Mixing in unpredictable color patterns is a uncommon way to stand out. Dipping into the colorwheel today, I went with cordovan and salmon together, a mix perfect for the somewhat summer, somewhat fall atmosphere. I also combined a mix of streetwear with formal wear, pairing a sweatshirt with a herringbone jacket, and wingtips with a Vibram sole. The cohesiveness of the look is made…

After the heatwave earlier in this week, that fall feeling came back and so did flannels and boots. I went with the light wool plaid shirt from Saturdays NYC. The wingtip boot from Cole Haan has a thick Vibram sole, making it more casual. As you can see, the tall cuff reveals the selvedge line on the bottom of the jeans. When these raw jeans break in, the dye will rub off revealing a…

Another hot day, I mixed cotton materials with spots of burgundy to make an autumnal offering while still keeping cool. Paisley critter pants add a dash of dapper to the casual look. The Fred Perry knit polo is a prep classic that wears well with the GQ-endorsed air tie. Somewhere between Roger Federer and Nick Wooster, I’m ready for a match or a show.

For the first time in a very long time, the hottest day of the summer fell in September. This makes for limited clothing options but allows for creativity to mix fall staples without dying. The shoes from Cole Haan and the vintage hat courtesy of Another Man’s Treasure in Jersey City are suede. The material synonymous with autumn is an alternative textures without adding weight to my…
